After supporting Peter with his other websites for almost a year – including req42 and b-agile – we were excited to take on a brand-new challenge together: rebuilding his personal website from the ground up. As a pioneer in software architecture and agile systems, Peter needed a modern digital presence that matched the clarity and professionalism of his work. Together, we created a clean, practical site that brings both his decades of expertise and his personality into focus – built to last
Peter is a pioneer in software architecture and agile systems, with over 40 years of experience helping teams build better systems. His previous personal website, however, no longer reflected the clarity or professionalism of his work. We rebuilt it from the ground up – creating a modern, structured site that presents his expertise clearly, while also showcasing the personal side: from travel and cooking to music and weekend kayaking. A practical, human website. Just like Peter himself.
Peter didn’t come with a brand kit, logo, or visual identity – and that’s because he didn’t need one. This wasn’t a company website, but a personal platform built around decades of expertise. What he did bring was plenty of content from his previous site. While the material was valuable, the structure, language, and presentation no longer did it justice. So we kept the essence, reworked the layout, sharpened the language, and gave it a clean, modern visual style – turning outdated content into a site that’s clear, current, and true to Peter.
Peter chose our Starter Homepage – a great fit for personal brands or experts who don’t need a fully custom enterprise site, but still want something modern, trustworthy, and tailored. With our fixed pricing and bookable extras for the Starter Homepage, we were able to adapt the structure to his needs: additional subpages for key topics, a more refined and custom layout, and smooth, subtle animations to give the site a modern feel without overwhelming the content. The result? A streamlined yet distinctive website that supports Peter’s work – built with clarity and personality, ready to evolve alongside his work, and focused on what matters.
We built Peter’s website using Jekyll – a static site generator that’s fast, reliable, and ideal for lightweight, long-lasting sites like his. The design and structure were custom-crafted to reflect his content clearly, with a focus on easy navigation and modern visual polish. Before launch, we ran both manual and automated checks – including detailed reviews of site speed, responsiveness, SEO basics, working links, and accessibility standards – to ensure everything met our highest PSWD quality standards.
